Shanna Dell served as the Protocol Specialist for the CDC DSTDP funded Johns Hopkins STD Prevention Training Center (PTC) to provide clinic training on protocol development and implementation.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Shanna was reassigned to the outbreak investigation team as a lead infection control advisor. She conducted site visits and advised on infection control in congregate living settings including long term care facilities, homeless shelters, assisted living facilities and substance use rehabilitation centers. Shanna also reviewed and updated the outbreak team on changes to infection control guidance from the CDC and Maryland Department of Health. Shanna helped us to put in place our COVID-19 safety protocols and practices, and we adjust our public health measures in accordance with her guidance on current Maryland case reporting.
