Postpartum bodywork can begin as soon as a mother feels ready to receive as long as she is not expressing any contraindications such as: pre-eclampsia, very heavy bleeding, fever, high blood pressure, swelling or disturbed vision or breathing. Postnatal massage after a C-section excludes abdominal work and any activity that may place strain or pressure on incisions and can be modified to support other areas of the body. Once cleared by a health provider, we offer castor oil massage to address scar tissue 8 weeks after birth.
